Noise from engine after ignition off

I have found a parts diagram.
TURBO CHARGER; INTERCOOLER & PIPING; INTERCOOLER & PIPING(1) | Nissan QASHQAI 12.2015 06.2017 | Parts Catalogs | PartSouq
Looks like it's code 14460VA and two part numbers are lists, one for Euro5 and the other for Euro 6 versions.
If you can see the crack/split and it is in the hard plastic, you might be able to degrease the area with some white spirit and wrap some strong gaffer tape around the crack.
You don't usually get much luck taping rubber hose this way, but you should have some better luck with the hard plastic.
Get it spotlessly clean first and then wind a few turns of some good quality gaffer tape tightly right around the pipe and crack.
It should last a while if you do it right, at least until you can get the right part fitted.
These pipes aren't usually easy to fit as the lower connectors and mounting brackets usually need to be accessed from underneath the car and to do that all sorts of undertrays and the likes need to come off.

Is this the same engine that has another hose rubbing on the alternator?0

Yes, Barkin
That's the one. I raised that thread.0 -
Hi Goudy
Spoke to Nissan and they confirmed the part I am after is 14460HX40D. It seems its only available at Nissan. Cant find anything by other manufacturers0 -
You might not find an aftermarket one as it's the hard plastic, moulded section.
You usually find aftermarket parts for the rubber hose sections that are then made from silicone pipe.
It's not a cheap part so I would be tempted to see if I could repair it.
If the top elbow is split, maybe it could be chopped out and replaced with a silicone elbow of the correct ID and a couple of jubilee clips.
You'd have to carefully measure up and see if there a suitable silicone elbow available, but they usually come in all lengths, widths and colours, Some are reduced too, so one end ID is smaller/larger than the other.
You could try a local tuning specialist, they will fit aftermarket intercoolers which will usually require bespoke pipework, they'll be able to tell if if it can be repaired this way.0 -
That is correct, as Nissan quoted £350 for this.
I am tempted to try the fix you suggested yesterday, gaffer tape. The leak is not very apparent if the engine revs are around 2000-2500rpm. Its only if you rev really hard, you feel burst of air coming out of the pipe, so I assume its a very small leak.

It's a turbo engine, so as the revs rise the turbo spins up faster pressurising air into the engine.
It would be easier and you should get a better "fix" if you can get the pipe off so you can get all the way around it.
Degrease it well so the gaffer tape sticks better and bound the crack with a few turns of tape tightly.
Even if you get a good seal with the tape, it probably won't last forever but should get you out of a hole for a while, say until a used one turns up on ebay or try some of the big car breakers.
