My Trip - Refund Hell

My mum booked a return flight with My Trip from East Midlands to Paris. The return flight was cancelled. We contacted My Trip who said we needed to speak direct to Eastern Airways and request the refund. We spoke to EA and they said that My Trip needed to requested refund from them. EA said they would then issue the refund and My Trip should refund us back. Despite many attempts My Trip keep saying they are requesting the money and EA keep telling us they haven't make such request. EA have said that My Trip made the booking on the Travel Fusion Portal instead of the GDS and have said as such they need to contact EA direct. Anyone else had this issue and if so any positive results???

This is often a common issue if booking a flight only via an online travel agency. Lots of back and forth. I’m sure it will get sorted but I doubt MyTrip will prioritise this. They may also make an administrative fee deduction from any refund.1
