Jet2 rights for refund or upgrade

I booked a one week holiday via Jet2 for a five star hotel in Crete B&B. The cost came in at just under 3k. Yesterday, I received an email saying that there was construction work at a nearby hotel, and this would be 8-5 Monday until Saturday. It was somewhat of a coincidence as I had phoned them as I’d seen recent reviews on trip adviser reference construction work. I was told none was happening by customer services. It’s since transpired that the work has been ongoing for almost two years, and it’s noisy and dusty. I phoned Jet2 and the said I could not get a refund but I could change or defer my holiday until next year. To change to a hotel with Jet2 of the similar standard with far less availability would now cost me between £800 and £1000 plus. This holiday was meant to be be a week of relaxation after being ill, and my previous 2023 holidays being busy sightseeing /traveling. Any advice appreciated. This is a photo that I was sent of the current situation. My hotel is on the right.

I don't believe that construction work at a nearby property would inherently trigger refund rights - was it Jet2 who emailed you, and were they just stating it as fact rather offering anything?
