Praise for Harpic Power Plus Tablets !!

One of husband's jobs is to clean the loo. He took his eye off the ball, didn't bother and it became grungy. Tried Coke, bicarbonate of soda, lemon juice and other home remedies. Nothing doing.

Spotted a piece in a tabloid about Harpic Power Plus Tablets. Snapped them up on offer in Wilko and ASDA. A couple down the loo for four days, no scrubbing and the loo looks brand new. Amazing stuff. Thoroughly recommend. Leave them in the loo as long as poss and they work better.

If, like us, you live in a very hard water area the loo gets very grungy very quickly.  It’s got nothing to do with how often or little you clean it.  I’ve also tried the Harpic Power Plus tablets and I can’t believe the difference. :).  I’d love to clean a hard water loo without using strong chemicals.

I have lived in a hard water area.

Never had a problem keeping the toilet clean with normal regular  cleaning.

I shouldn't have to explain that I live in a hard water area, which is so hard, even with a water softener, that water comes out of the hot tap, looking like milk. The source of our tap water is a spring on the North Downs in Kent and the only treatment it gets (I checked with water company) is the mandatory chlorine, to prevent (supposedly) bacteria build-up in the mains. Not only does the chalk stick to the loo as a hard deposit, it also clogs up the shower head, all our taps and the washing machine.

Bleach and toilet cleaners whiten the chalk but don't remove it and loo brushes are too soft and can't cope with it either.I

I have a pumice stone on a stick made for cleaning - needs some elbow grease, but that's my alternative suggestion for anyone who wants a bowl you could eat from without the chemicals. I got mine on Ebay, but they're on Amazon and in B&Q too.
  • Forum posters were allowed to make comments suggesting that the build up of mineral deposits in my loo were due to inadequate cleaning skills and these are still there.

When I defended myself against this, portions of my posts were removed. So bl**st typical of MSE.

Who can I complain to officially ?
