Hello
Last month I came into contact with bed bugs on holiday. Although I was able to treat my belongings/throw some of them away before I came home, a lot of my clothes/footwear didn't survive the heat treatment process so I'm having to foot the bill to replace them. I'm worried about it happening again in future, especially as bed bugs are on the rise in the UK, apparently.
Does anyone know if contents insurance would cover this as standard? i.e meaning that I wouldn't have to foot the bill to replace everything, like I am now.
Thanks

Insurance policies cover specific risks, so you'd need to read yours to see what it says about infestation or similar. Mine refers specifically to infestation by "rats, mice, wasps, hornets, grey squirrels and cockroaches" and nothing else, so I would say bed bugs aren't "standard".0
