I want to speak to a person at Travelodge

I've been trying to book a room at gatwick travelodge for 2 days but the site always goes down. (might be my link from Spain I suppose, but have booked before without a problem) Anyway thought I'd make a phone booking but the automated service (0870 191 1531) can't understand my surname and there doesn't apear to be an option to speak to a real live person to make a booking.
Has anyone got a phone number I can use please

Sounds like a good reason to use another hotel. No company should be allowed to get away with such a poor level of customer service.
Anyway, is there a 'web help' number for technical support with the website?0 -

Not that I've seen0 -
Hi
I presume this is the lodge you want to stay at?
http://www.travelodge.co.uk/find_a_hotel/hotel/hotel_id/28/GatwickAirport
If so, there is a number on there, and it will take you through direct to the lodge itself.
I haven't stayed at this particular one, but have used this method of contact before, as we have 2 children in beds and a baby in a cot, and I always double check there's a cot! I've phoned the lodge direct several times and always found them helpful, and am sure they will be able to help you with your booking.

If you mean this number 0871 984 6031, it just makes 'pinging and clicking' noises but never a ringing tone so haven't been able to get thro.0

Thanks, just got thro on that number, but they can't take a booking has to be done online or thro' their booking line. Gave me another numberHere is the normal number 01293 533441
08700 850 950 which is an automated service, the lady said that in order to speak to a real live person you need to press 1 to book a room and at the next prompt press 2. Great that worked BUT you can only book full priced rooms not discounted ones. they have to be booked online or booking phone line. I explained to the person that the automated service would not recognise my surname, her solution, give a name that it would recognise, remember that for when you arrive but the important number is the booking reference. Not really happy about that, but might try tomorrow when I feel stronger!!!0 -
I would agree with that, just book in another name. The booking reference is never needed at reception (or at least I have never been asked for it in 20 odd years that I have used their different lodges). Simply give name you have booking under at reception.0
