Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Another glorious start and a good day is forecast. The wind that got up and spoiled yesterday looks to have dropped thank goodness.
I'm up and at 'em early as I have an Ocado delivery booked 7 - 8 and, from previous experience, they can often come early. So this one won't catch me still slobbing around in my dressing gown!
I booked an early slot as it's bus trip day and I don't want to be dashing around at the last minute getting sorted. It's mostly fridge, fruit and veg stuff, though I have been tempted by some M & S fishy bits as my fish stocks were dwindling. There should just be room in the tall freezer after a sort out last week!
It promises to be a nice day for our bus ride (unlike the torrential rain we had last time!) so it will probably be another Skipton day, browsing the cs and the market stalls before our lunch.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. COXY I was sorry to read your DDad is in denial of the urgency of his treatment and I hope he has a rethink when he gets back home. Welcome back SNOOZER, it sounds a lovely holiday was had. ROSY I hope Lyla eventually got her meds. What a debacle. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Morning All
Looks like it might rain in a while - I'm kind of glad as it's back to school for the children today and would be awful if the sun was shining after all the poor weather we've had over the holidays. Taff - Ruby's correct, we finish for summer at the end of June so go back earlier.
Lots done at work yesterday but the hard work starts today once the children are in, there will be some who have gone elsewhere and some new so all need registering. We have another Ukranian family joining us who have come from the ship that was moored in Edinburgh.
Hope Lyla is recovering now she has her medication Rosy.
Sounds like you had a good holiday Snoozer, you deserved it.
Can't believe your DDad has chosen to fly home Coxy, hope he gets the treatment he needs.
Sorry your DH is so poorly Marie, special hugs to you.
Have a good day, take care. XX12 -
Morning all the weather looks good for today we have a guy coming to give a quote for an awning above the bifold doors as it gets too hot to sit there in the summer and the sun is a pain in the backside in the evening of watching tv we usually have to close the blinds other than that its just a same old day . I spoke with the other executor yesterday and he now feels he cannot do the paperwork for the house so i will need to see a solicitor to complete this cue looking through all my mums final paperwork which was quite upsetting but i need to bring this all to a close now so need to make an appointment for that
TA Enjoy your bus trip and lunch
Nmic hooray for a half day
Rosy Hoping you get the meds for Lyla today
Marie I hope your doing ok

Lovely day here and tomorrow is supposed to be the same, Friday the rain is back 🙄 what a terrible summer we are having !The decorator finished yesterday and it looks brilliant the mural wallpaper really finishes it off and brightens it all up, roll on Saturday when we can get the curtains back up.
Off to collect Rob today and take him to work I will do some shopping on the way home as the cupboards are looking a bit bare.
Coxy I was sorry to read that your DDad is in denial, let’s hope he has a change of heart xxx
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning all,
I seemed to have lost all my get up and go, but hope to find it soon as I have a busy day ahead.
We received more troubling news yesterday about dad’s health, so tests on heart and liver have been requested for him.I have a lunch visit with a friend that I am looking forward to, then it is a quick visit to my MIL new care home afterwards to check on furniture prior to her moving in, then an evening visit to M&S to buy new clothes for mum and dad.
Thinking of all who are struggling and have worries.
TA, have a nice trip out. Snoozer, your holiday sounded lovely. dp1, I love hearing about your dgd, bless her for thinking school is for one year only. Rosy, I hope you can source Layla’s meds soon. (I am noticing that the pharmacy is taking longer to source some of my parent’s meds recently too.)
Sorry for disjointed posting, it reflects my brain at the moment, all over the place.
Take care.

Hi everyone,
I had a lovely day with Esther, she is a very placid baby and is no trouble to entertain. She also eats what you put in front her and naps regularly, like Chris did. I do wonder if second babies realise they just have to fit in with things rather than having all their parents attention.
Steve did most of the holiday washing yesterday, I just need to wash my bras and then it's done, for once I didn't take far too many things, the only things I didn't wear were a couple of warmer tops and a pair of leggings that I took because you can't always trust the alps to be warm, but we were lucky.
I have a blood test this morning so I need to get on with things.
Coxy, what a worry for you, I hope things work out.
Good luck to anyone who has relatives getting results today.
Have a good day.12 -
Hello all, after another bad night I was up and at the surgery early for bloods and BP appointment, seems my BP is very high, no wonder I feel so rubbish. I'll need a retest but it will have to wait until we're home from hols. We called at the meat van on the way home and got some black pudding (best we've bought by far) some other meats and eggs. They may be a bit dearer than the sm but better quality and we always get such a pleasant welcome from the father and son team, they really make you feel appreciated. I have a small wash on the go now, everything dried yesterday and the sun is shining again today so I'm making the most of it.
DGS will arrive this afternoon for a sleepover but he's no bother as long as you constantly feed him 😂. He's looking forward to watching a series with us that he doesn't get at home. I finished watching "Wolf" last night and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Hugs to everyone with poorly relatives, DH's and pets.
Take care all.

Morning folks - a late one from me as I was at a physio appointment at 8.30a.m. and then have been pottering around on the web doing some admin stuff. I've got a pool session at 1p.m. and then a free afternoon.Yesterday the lunch at the big house was most pleasant, more pleasant than I anticipated anyway. A rather 'thin' lasagne and then a really magnificent chocolat roulade. There were seven of us and the chat was flowing well.TA - I hope that you enjoyed your jaunt today and that the weather was kind to you.Camelot - happy children day!Coxy - my thoughts are with you and your DDad. In my experience fathers are very stubborn in the face of unwelcome news.Bella - could you complete the necessary paperwork yourself? The English system is much less complicated that the Scottish one. There's plenty of really helpful and knowledgable members over in the death thread to talk you through it. Of course, a solicitor would be faster!Izzy - you do well to ditch WW, perhaps doing it yourself is less worrying.Ruby - having all the decorating finished must feel great, everything nice and fresh. I can't even contemplate having it done.Peony - sorry to read about your DDad.Snoozer - so lovely to hear more about your DGC and your peaceful time with Esther. There's not any sunshine here, low white cloud which may produce rain later, and certainly not as warm as Monday or Tuesday.I've had protracted email conversations about my new jacket with the fastenings on the male side - seems that all the offerings are unisex with the divisions of male and female on their website to 'show the different styling'. Makes no sense to me! Anyway the company is refunding me the cost of returning the first jacket to them and I now have a replacement. Will have to learn to how close the 'wrong way round' poppers. It'll be good my my brain if nothing else.I hope that everyone is doing well. Happy rest of Wednesday to all.10
