Just wondering why Direct Line quoted me £770 to renew my insurance and a phone call got this down (without any changes to the policy) to £561. Amazing really

I have renewed with Direct Line several times and it is always worth trying this, particularly if you have a quote from another insurer to mention to them. I ring and remind them that I have made no claims for years so why are they increasing the premium?_Alan_ said:Just wondering why Direct Line quoted me £770 to renew my insurance and a phone call got this down (without any changes to the policy) to £561. You should always scan the market to see what price you can get insurance for and then take that price back to your current insurer to beat. If they can't go elsewhere.
Prices change without whether you have made a claim or not, that is just one element. Typically at the moment most renewal quotes will be 19-40% higher than last years policies without an in year claims.0
