Hi

I was panicking the other day that my credit card end date would be coming up soon but it never says on the statements the end date of the 0 percent deal like other credit cards I've had. Nothing also on the app ethier.
I had to contact them via the chat facility and they said they would remind me 21 days prior to end date..surely this will panic people even more as they don't know the end date. I was thankfully told it would end next year which gives a bit of breathing room if plan doesnt go to plan.
.is it normal not to show the end date of 0 percent on statements or m and s the unusual one here.

In my experience it varies.  Some cards print it on the back of every statement, some seem not to.  I agree, it would be very helpful if it was always printed on your statement.
But for this reason, I always make a note of it somewhere.  My kids say I should put a reminder on my phone (how on earth does one do that ??!! ), personally I'm very old-school and just write it on the calendar pinned up on the kitchen wall :)

I never let them get away with saying "we'll notify you" as you don't know for sure they will, you might have changed phone or whatever, you might be away and not be able to access your phone/email/online banking.  I always have had a spreadsheet where all my CC payments are noted with end dates and how much I'm paying each month so that I've got a couple of months to organise my finances so I don't get caught out.

And yes M&S is the only one that seems to keep the info hidden away in their own system somewhere.  So much so that some of their staff won't be able to find it.  I've "complained" to them about it more than once but as I haven't been financially inconvenienced they don't think it's a proper cause for complaint in the official sense.  Some of them will agree that it's a bit odd and say they will pass my feedback along but in the years and years of having the card it's never changed.  The one good thing though is that it appears to be the only card where you can have a BT and still be able to use the card for purchases without being charged interest.  But again - not all their staff will be able to confirm if this is the case or not.  And frankly you then end up with not knowing how much you need to pay each month to clear the purchase balance without mucking up the BT balance.  So best to keep things separate I guess.

They might be referring to a calendar note.  Like a meeting for some future date to remind you to pay it off.  I've used this on outlook for years for various tasks but not card payments as I prefer to have all the information about everything in one place, hence my spreadsheet.

I'm glad I already had a plan in place to get it paid off before the end date I thought it was.

I bet it's a ploy so people need to pay interest on the balance

My surprise is when the CC does warn/remind me when the 0% ends rather than the other way around. I keep the information in a spreadsheet and written in permanent marker on the card.
