in Credit cards
Hi,
After checking the 0% offers on BT on the main website I applied for the 0% no fee at HSBC (for 16 months). It all seemed to go through very quickly (approved and card sent). When I went on the app today I realised that the offer had not been included. (I have double checked this with customer services).
Although they were happy to provide a 0% term they did add the fee however that works out more costly for me and I would not have gone through with the application had I been aware.

I just wondered whether this was a regular issue or was I just unlucky?

It's not uncommon. Any offer (indeed, any credit application at all) is tailored to your particular credit history and details. So whilst 51% of successful applicants will receive the advertised offer/rates, other applicants will receive a different offer. It's fairly common, for instance, to receive a 0% offer for say 12 months when the advertised "representative" offer is for 18 months. It just depends on what their computer algorithms came up with when your credit history and associated data was analysed. When you received the notice that your application had been successful, there would have been a section in the T&Cs to confirm what your personal offer actually was.3

I’m fairly sure this should have been confirmed or asked your confirmation before you accepted the agreement? Opened a HSBC card last year after after applying it confirmed the rate, deal at the end id been accepted for and asked if I wanted to continue?1
