Have I goofed up ?

I have just recently joined and read the newbies sticky post 4, but whilst reading through it I've realised that I may have made mistakes trying to fight these people. Can you please let me know if I have made any mistakes and what else should I do?

I recently received a parking charge from Euro Car Parks that has progressed to debt collection through ZZPS and QDR Solicitors. My log book update was delayed, (my own fault) leading to the charge escalating to debt collector £170 stage. No court papers yet, I've rang QDR and updated my address with them to ensure court papers reach me. I also asked them to pause the case until the BPA decide on a resolution, citing a breach of the Pofa act by Euro Car Parks. Complained on Euro Car Parks' website but missed the POPLA stage. I have asked them to reduce the charge to the original sum because I would have paid that given I received the PCN but they will not listen, despite telling them about pofa act section 4 being breached by Euro carparks.

After reading #4 I'm now Planning to cease contact with them and just complain to the landowner and my MP as I have had no avail due to euro car parks and the BPA being dismissive and evasive.

Because I overstayed and thought paying the original fee at the time was justified, but not paying hundreds of pounds.

This is all you need to do, as well as email ECP's own DPO email and insist that they erase the old address and to note the correct address held by QDR.  It is imperative that ECP know this too.

Then ignore both. Nothing will happen.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

QDR has no skin in the game. They act as a debt collector which you ignore as advised in the Newbies/FAQ thread.

Offering to pay these scammers makes you a part of the problem. By funding their scam, you get marked as a "mug" for future reference.

If/when you get a LoC/LBC, go back to the Newbies/FAQ thread and re-read the second post on what to do. Euro Car Parks are not litigious so just ignore the useless debt collector letters that are designed to get the gullible to poop their pants and pay up. They are most likely to eventually give up and go look for lower-hanging fruit from the gullible tree.

Thanks and yes, I realise that anyone who gives on and just pays are literally part of the problem. That's why I'm not. I only requested it to be reduced or they get nothing. Now they will get nothing.

    Thanks everyone :)
