Moving home and lost my gov grant money as result
Hi
I moved flats in June and left a prepayment meter with almost £100 of gov grant money on it. British gas have informed me I cannot take this credit with me to my new supplier and have refused to refund the meter. Is this correct? It seems unfair that i have lost out on this help.

Hi,did you contact BG when you left and give final reading, if not, it may be that a new tenant has moved in and used up your credit.Have you had a final statement yet?Agree that you cannot transfer credit to new supplier but you are entitled to any credit balance.Have a read HERE.0

I sent an image of the final meter reading but they will not refund money from the gov grant that was on there. they offered me less about £28 not sure and nor were they how this final offer was calculated!0

Hi,was the image showing the credit balance or the meter reading which records units used?0

just to confirm - the date you "moved flats", is that the last day you were responsible for the bills at this flat? e.g. end of tenancy/sold? Or did you have a cross over in dates whereby you moved out on the 10th but tenancy didn't end till 30th (as an example!).
