    Sorry been away and just seen this. But yes something like this! You could also cover the "gap" with a felt or similar for additional cable management.

    This just feels easier than making holes in all sides and in future you may not need one on the other side so seems like a waste. :)
  • For the top surface, this works. Or perhaps even multiple smaller holes.

    But as the three carcasses below are separate, and have partitions… if I wanted to get cables to one corner, I would need to cut a hole through the sides!
