Morning everyone
It poured here yesterday afternoon but I spent a nice few hours cleaning all my pictures ready to go back up, some needed taken apart to clean dead cornflies out, and listened to podcasts.
Also had a nice chat with eldest DD - she'd spent the weekend in Stockholm with friends she used to work with.
No plans as yet for today - I may go down and help DD with her garden.
Coxy I hope your dad is ok and has the treatment he needs when he gets back home.
Camelot - I meant to wish you a good first day back at school yesterday - we've still got a couple of weeks yet.
The other day little one was talking about how she's so excited to start big school and how happy she is she's 4 cos you go to school when you're 4. Then she asked 'and what do I do when I'm 5?' Still go to school I replied and I explained she had to go for 14 years. She thought you only went while you were 4 and then that was it!
Hope everyone has a good day today x

Hi everyone,
We're home, after a very long day yesterday. We had stayed in Strasbourg to break the journey, leaving at 9.30 we had a very good drive but when we got to the shuttle there were delays so we ended up getting home at 12.30 am, about 4 hours after we'd hoped.
We had a lovely time though and the weather was good, especially in the alps where we did some spectacular walks. It was our 44th wedding anniversary on Friday and we went to a restaurant we first went to on our anniversary 30 years ago. The place is still owned by the same family but has changed and expanded a lot, the food was still good though.
The hotel we stayed at in Austria has a cafe attached with the most beautiful cakes and we were given a free one every afternoon, we didn't eat lunch, just had a big breakfast (the pastry chef made all the rolls and bread as well) and then a cake mid-afternoon before dinner. I had real problems with the evening meals though, they are so meat heavy I ended up leaving 50% of every dinner which I found frustrating.
The three hotels had spas in them and we really got into steaming and saunaing, even though the German and Austrian ones had to be taken naked!
Anyway, back to reality, Laura has gone to her acupuncture practice, she seems to be doing really well and is already making a reasonable profit this month, when she expected to make a loss her first month. Esben will be going to nursery and we will have Esther to wrangle. Courgette and tomato risotto for dinner, no meat for a little while.
It's Nate's first birthday next Tuesday, where has that time gone.
Marie, thinking of you and your DH.
Nanny, thanks for the updates on your niece, I had been wondering how she was getting on, she must be a very strong lady.
Have a good day.

Morning all, bit better today, at least it's stopped raining for now and some blue sky. The rain was so heavy at times yesterdayCoxy, sorry to hear about your DDad. Your gut feeling that something was wrong was spot on. Hope he sees sense and stays for the op.Marie, hope your DH feels a bit better today. Glad your lovely DGC are nearby for support. Thanks for all the good wishes for Ly1a, hope Sparkle is ok- lovely having pets but the downside is when they're illThe promised meds from the vet didn't materialise, there are 2 branches and ours didn't have any tablets in stock so the receptionist arranged for us to pick them up from the other one , but check to see if the prescription had been sorted before going to pick them up. DH did and they didn't seem to know anything about it at first & told him she needed 24 hrs notice but she'd ring if they were sorted- no call. So another disturbed night, although not as bad, meds hopefully today- lack of sleep is making my brain very foggy too Camelot! No way could I have done number work at 3 am Peony.RRuby, Roman villa sounds interesting.Taff not heard of tromboncinos beforeWe are going to the footie match tonight, DS1 is around to dog sit, but the DGC aren't coming. We'll meet DB,SIL for a drink there before it starts. Something quick for tea needed, freezer dig shortly.Take care all, sorry if I haven't mentioned you all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all, not sure about the weather, the forecasters can't seem to agree if it's going to rain or not but I have a wash ongoing and I live in hope that it stays dry as the washing basket was full. DGD is still here until after lunch, then she's going to watch the Barbie movie this afternoon with her friend. We watched a film last night, The school of Good and Evil, not normally my cup of tea but still quite good and DGD enjoyed it. This morning I have a very stiff hip which may be from sleeping in the spare bed but I'm back in my own one tonight so hopefully it will right itself.
I have an early blood test tomorrow then DGS will be arriving after lunch, we'll need a revolving front door at this rate and they're both back again next Sunday for a few days, phew I'll need a holiday after that !
Hugs to the poorly ones, parents, relatives and pets. Sorry I can't remember who said what but it's lovely to see so many on here now. Have a good day all
Take care and stay well.
nan xx

Morning everyone just a quick cuppa and a sandwich just got in from cleaning job off to work in a minute Coxy so sorry to hear about your DD I hope he sees sense when he gets back to Cyprus it’s really hard but some people just make there minds up and there’s not a lot you can do to change it so many to mention but I have a memory like a sieve but it’s nice so many are chatting I love to read about what everyone’s up to .My WW membership is up I am not going to renew it I’ve lost 2 stone in a year but it’s been hard going and the way the plan is now it’s not suitable for me I’m not losing anything I am just keeping track myself and saving my money I need to step away from the scales it’s just disheartening when you stick with it and nothing happens but hubby is been really good there’s no rubbish in the house to eat so that helps he’s lost 2 stone in ten weeks it’s not fair but I will keep plodding on she wants me to continue and said why not just come to the meeting and don’t get weighed but then what are you paying for and she’s a lovely woman but she’s getting bigger by the week she just doesn’t fill me with confidence at the end of the day it’s down to me to control what I eat . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing13
