Is it just me?  I cannot see how to see things with the latest first on facebook.  At the moment the first post I see was 9 days ago, followed by one 1 hour ago then several from 4 or 5 days ago.  The posts from the last few days are much lower down.
How do I set it to show latest first?

Change the filter on the comments from most relevant to newest.
I generally have to do it for each post I look at. I’ve not worked out yet if you can set that as your default.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

On the FB app on a 'mobile device' or on a PC?
On my laptop http://www.facebook.com/?sk=h_chr is supposed to give the newest first, but it's becoming harder and harder to view FB as I want to rather than how the algorithms think I should!  :(

I'm getting a very similar issue, over the last few days the main feed will show stuff that's been on for days and there's a lot of scrolling involved to get to new content. The "newest activity" has to be selected every time I go into each individual group. Facebook's display order has always been inexplicable, now it's just annoying.

That's the link I use, but I don't think it works any more - dropping it certainly hasn't helped over the last few days. I've tried logging out and logging in again in case that's the problem. I don't want to clear cookies because of the inconvenience it'll cause on all the other sites I use.

On my phone, it's all over the place & just about useless, On my desktop I have F.B Purity installed which helps but even then FB keeps shuffling about and FBP has to update to catch up

    You can't.

In the beginning your Facebook feed was in date order.  Then they changed the default to the one generated by their algorithm but you could change the sort order to newest first.  Then they removed the option to use any other sort order completely.  This all happened years ago now.

Facebook do not want you to see your feed in date order so they will not let you do that.  Facebook does not care about your user experience.  They know it is rubbish but if their algorithm feed sorting generates more revenue they will force you to use it.
