Isles of Scilly - Insurance

Storm Antoni meant that the Scillonian III was cancelled for our return journey to Cornwall from Scilly, meaning that we had to stay on the islands for an extra night. Since our rented cottage had to be vacated, we incurred hotel and B&B charges for an extra night (cost £500).

My standard (albeit branded as premium) worldwide travel insurance policy did not cover this event since there was no "international" leg to the journey.

Is anyone aware of a policy that covers UK and Worldwide travel like for like. i.e. so that a family with teenage kids which travels say once or twice a year internationally (EU/AUS/US) and likewise domestically have the same coverage irrespective?

Thanks for input in advance..
