I read my pre-pay digital gas meter for the first time at the beginning of the month, by pressing Button B and taking the reading as shown.  I'm certain that it was 4483 (read it a couple of times over a few days as I was waiting to change suppliers.  Have re-read it today and it is showing 4481!  I know I have used only a few pence worth of gas (20p above the standing charge) but can't understand how the meter is showing a negative use.

I did take a photo of the last reading as well but stupidly deleted it in a fit of tidying up!  Can someone tell me if I am reading it wrong from the picture below?

20 years staring at various gas meters in their hundreds of thousands and I ve never seen a digital gas meter running backwards... Analogue ones ,yes many times ,electric meters ..thousands of them but never a digital type gas meter . . But I would nt put it past it as I ve seen them doing daft things with the digits and we have had quite a few on here reporting that their Landys Gyr or Siemens digital gas meters add plenty of digits for no reason .I suppose they could just as well change the digits around to appear to go backwards ..

I've used a bit of hot water and now it's showing me 4481.513m3 so it does increase - it's just weird because I'm absolutely certain it was on 4483 ...

I'm now thinking that the '3' was in fact a dodgy '0' which would make sense with it now showing 4481 ... Only need to wait another 9 months and I'll know for sure!
