Since it's been over 14 days since my tenancy ended I've now generated the statutory form via the DPS website. Where I'm confused is the notifying the EA bit - when I moved out I put a wet signed letter through the EA's letter box requesting the return of my deposit. However, when I texted the EA earlier today their response was that they never received the said letter. Yet I requested return of the deposit from the DPS (which also notifies the EA I presume?)

Any idea where I stand, please. I do of course have a copy of the original letter which I can print again. I hope I now don't have to wait another 14 days giving the EA even more wriggle room...

I would speak to the DPS and EA and state that they are past the statutory deadline, make it very clear that you know that they should have repaid you. That being said if they claim to not have received the original letter and you have no proof of posting or receipt then in theory they could take ten days. I am not quite sure how the notifying the DPS works in relation to what they tell the EA.
