Is it possible to hide the fact that someone is an admin of a group? I googled it (or course) but the options it mentions don't seem to be there any more.

Why do you want to hide the fact you're the admin?0

You could create another profile for yourself, call it "xyz group admin", and use that account to do admin stuff. I've seen that on one group that I'm in. Some group members might wonder why they can't know who is doing the admin, but that will depend on the group and it's members, you may end up having a less popular group because of the secrecy. And you will have to remember to switch profiles and make sure you don't post using your other account.0
