Unsightly old fire alarm recess

On my ceilings I have a couple of old recesses where a fire alarm would have been housed, they're about 6x6cm and 1.5cm deep. Are there any kind of blanking plates that I can cover them with so ideally my ceiling remains flush?

Hard to answer without a photo but there won't be any kind of blanking plate that will look like the hole was never there. You can get blanking plates for where sockets or light switches are but they attach to the screw holes that used to attach the socket or switch and they don't make it look like the item in question was there.
You need to largely fill the hole with something such as bits of plasterboard then skim the remaining depth with plaster or filler and then paint it0 -
Could you not disguise where the alarms have been with a couple of ceiling canopy kits, with hooks that you can hang plants from.Play with the expectation of winning not the fear of failure. S.Clarke0
