Any issues putting up a canopy /car port at rear of semi detached house over the patio. Just for shelter over hotub etc as ive had two pop up gazebos twist and bend and break over time and was thinking of something similar to how people make car ports on the side of house but at rear over patio door. Leaning down. Polycarb sheet roof. Attached to house with posts on the patio.
There is a gate on my side then wall and then neighbours gate to explain how the rear gardens are. Both completely seperate not touching. Only council sites are so confusing.
My thoughts are it is as you are allowed a small conservatory that wud have sides sealed and all sorts etc where as this would just essentially be a roof
Thanks for your help

Polycarb roofs are deafening when it rains.
Is the shelter for rain, wind, sun or prying eyes?
If the last two - have you considered a pergola? Relatively cheap and easy to fix. I used to have a pergola and hot tub. I used a shade sail with stainless steel hooks that I put up and take down when needed. You can get waterproof versions as well

There are companies who provide verandahs which might be aesthetically more pleasing than a misplaced car port0

I'm pretty sure this would come under "permitted developement" so no planning permission required. Google it for all the information on the .gov website

Any title covenants which might be relevant? Is it a conservation area?0
