Would very much appreciate any further advise, help, support please.

Never receive any post to LL (In the name of one LL) 

Today In the name of Lady LL
received a letter at my  property from a solicitor on behalf of the Morgage company.

LL Failed to pay mortgage repayments in arears.

Received no further communication from LL. Notice from the Landlord ect.

Property/Morgage understand both names LL and Ex Husband.

Remorgaged 2016 maybe in just one LL name.

Would very much appreciate any further advise, help, support.

Rent due 15th to LL?

Do I just send back. Not at this Address?

  • This is a potential can of worms.

    Sounds like the LL may not have at buy to let mortgage. Do you not have your LL address (you should).

    If you rent via an agent you could send it to them to pass on, or you could return to sender with a note saying you're a tenant!

    Have no idea if a buy to let mortgage.
    Have never received any post since remorgage some years ago.

    Have one old LL address. LL was renting another house at time. 

    Rent DD to LL.

    Agent just used to advertise. LL manage.

    I thought of, return to sender, saying you're a tenant.

    This happened to me several years ago.  Shelter were very useful.  Although the LL did not have a buy to let mortgage, the bank weren’t too bothered about it. A repossession order was actually already in place, given that there had been an earlier period of non payment.  

    I couldn’t take the stress and got out but the bank had signalled that they would be happy to keep me on as a tenant after enforcing the repossession order and selling the property.  Even with an order in place this was going to take several months.  And the order never was enforced as the LL paid off enough of the arrears to placate the bank.

    How did you first become made aware?

    "Repossession Order never enforced as the LL paid off enough of the arrears to placate the bank "What did U do regards Rent under the circustances?

    Not easy to find a place to go too in these times. Yes stress :-(

    I think I'd simply return it 'not at this address'. I wouldn't add anything else that could indicate you know what's going on or could inflame the situation - that's entirely for your LL to sort.
    This was private mail and not for you. Not to worry, of course - it's no fault of yours to have opened it. 
    And, yes, start looking, but don't jump.
