NCP carpark failed autopay

HI Everyone,

Hope all is well.

I'm very upset with NCP.

I have now received 2 fines in the post from NCP (date of incident 4/7/23 and 18/7/23 date I was made aware of this after 01.08.23 and today 12.08.23 about a month after the incident) because as far as I'm concerned their system failed.

I have a credit card on file. This has had 72 successful payments to NCP. For what ever reason sometime before the 4/7/23 it failed, not my credit card but their system. My card is fine, expiry is 09.27.

You cant even login into your own account online. I tried to use my app and the app was discontinued i believe around the time of the problem. I installed the new app and logged in. I don't see any of my credit card details. I only tried these things because i received the fines in the post.

I suspect when they moved to the new app they never ported peoples information across?  

I was never informed of any of this.

Once I set up my autopay, I have never touched the app. I assumed my credit card is on their system and does not require the app. It work fine for 72 times like this.

I know I have parked more that 2 times in that month. I could have 10 fines or more working there way slowly to me. Why in this day and age are all my fines not displayed immediately?

What happens now? What is the small print? Will they say it's my fault for not checking back into the app each time?

You cant get them on the phone. You cant get them on chat.

i finally got through to them on their app. they made me pay for the 3 parking sessions that were not paid for, 12pounds in total. and said to appeal the other 2 fines that have already been issued. 

happy i did not get 5 times 60 or 100 fine. can you imagine 500pound fine.

i'll have to keep a closer eye on the app every time i park i guess. cant trust it. or maybe walk.

In the NCPs I use, they had posters up and signs by the exit barrier saying get the new app. Plus they emailed several times.

thanks for the reply.

the thing is. i never use the app. only used it once to setup credit card details. you would have thought your credit card details sit on their computer after.

anyway. i have to be more careful.

Probably a good idea to get your thread moved to the Parking Board.
Do that by clicking Report below your opening post and asking MSE Forum Team to move your thread.

You will get good guidance on how to appeal your remaining parking charges, such that you won't need to pay those ridiculous amounts.

From each Notice to Keeper (NtK) letters you've received for each parking charge, can you tell us:

1. Date of parking event
2. Date of Issue shown on the NtK

Is there a paragraph the reads (something similar to) 'Please be warned that if after 28 days ........ ', if so could you copy what that paragraph says in full, please?

If you'd come here earlier instead of phoning NCP (bad move) you'd have had the same advice as was on the linked thread from a few days ago.

Easy to appeal and win all of these.
