Pl can a handyman fix a squeaking floor without removing the carpet? Thanks

No.The carpet (and underlay) will need to be lifted so that screws can be put in where needed.You could get an animal that will just put screws in through the carpet, but it will look piggin' ugly and it is a crap shoot as to whether he screws in to a joist or not - If you get someone suggesting this, kick him somewhere soft & squidgy before closing the door on him.Her courage will change the world.

There are kits you can buy that are specially designed to snap off the screw heads below the carpet. I've never used them myself, so can't comment on how effective they are.1

Finding the joists is possible. The main issue would be to avoid going into a pipe or cable.0
