Policyholder and main driver. Who earns the NCD ?
I am currently the policyholder and named Driver , but can select who accrues the NCD. Currently I am accruing it even though I am named driver.
However this company is now quoting too much for renewal. FYI it's Churchill.
The new company I was going to select, does not allow the named driver to accrue the NCD.
Does anyone know of any other insurance other than Churchill that lets you select which driver is accruing the NCD?

How can you be the policyholder and named driver? That would mean you are on the policy twice.
For most companies the NCD is accrued by the Policyholder, Direct Line Group (inc Churchill) used to have the PH accrue NCD and named drivers accrued NDNCD which isnt the same as normal NCD and most other insurers wouldnt accept it
Looking at their site now, if you declare a ND is the main driver rather than the PH you get the choice between that ND and the PH to contribute and own the NCD.
If you want to be the one getting the NCD why not just set them as the PH?1 -

Who is the registered owner = me.
Who is the policyholder= me.
Are there additional driver = yes my partner
Who is the Main Driver= my partner.
So i own the car , take out the policy but state I am not the main driver.0 -
To cut a long story short, I want to use my NCD to get a quote , declare myself as named driver and accrue NCD.
I don't car who is PH so long as the above is permissable.
Who allows that ? It seems Churchill are currently allowing me to do this, but their renewal price is sky high.0 -
If policy is in your name then in most cases you will be the one accruing NCDRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0

With what company can I keep accruing NCD as a named driver? If only Churchill hadn't hiked the premium by 135£ I wouldn't be in this situation.0

Get quotes with you being the policyholder and them being the named driver. Set them as the main driver. Go down in order of preference and check when the main driver isnt the policyholder who can provide the NCD at the start and who benefits from the NCD at the end.0
