Solar System Insurance

I was checking with my Tesco home insurance if all of my solar setup is covered. tHey said that the panels aare included so if say a meterite smashed them up then that willl be covered or if a wagon smashed into my house then that would also be cpvered. This means that there is no form of breakdown cover on any home insurance. The most likely thing to fail would be the inverter because that is what does all the work. Has anyone come across solar system breakdown cover that includes everything, panels, batteries, inverter and all cabling?

Home insurance doesn't cover the breakdown of anything, it's not a maintenance contract. Home Emergency is an add on to Home or a stand alone product but is still limited and is only intended to fix the emergency not necessarily the long term fix/making good afterwards.

It sounds like you are looking for a warranty instead which are often structured as maintenance contracts rather than insurance.  Can't recommend one as never had to look at them but how much would it cost to replace the inverter? Could you afford that? Warranties, proportional to the maximum loss, are massively more expensive than Home Insurance

Saw a review about one insurer. There had been storm damage. Claims Handling Company said, that as there is no Matching Items cover on the policy, only that one panel would be replaced, even if the new one would not be matching the undamaged ones.

Makes sense, why would you replace undamaged panels?  It's not like needing the style or pattern to match for aesthetic reasons.
