I know someone who has to get to the nearest Home Office on a weekly basis costing them £10 a return on the train (£8 on bus that would take 3 hours there and back), but they're on basic rate of UC for a single person, and they're not able to afford to eat. They committed a crime which they were incarcerated for and spent an extra 10 months to avoid being deported back to their EU country. The condition that they face is attending these weekly appointments to the Home Office.
Is there a charity who I can apply to to get some funding? They suffer with mental health and is worsening as they're constantly facing a lot of barriers ie. not finding suitable work, no friends etc.

Either charities helping ex-offenders or possibly refugees would be where I'd start.Signature removed for peace of mind1
