Car insurance hike

I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience recently.
Last year my car insurance came to £345. I have just received a renewal quote of £770!
In disbelief, I started looking on comparison sites and the cheapest I can find now is £650ish.
I have not had any claims or penalties. I have 14 years no-claims bonus now. I wondered if there's been a sudden rise in costs of insurance nationally or whether it was just me or my residential area? There was a spate of burglaries and damage to cars on my road around January and the culprit was caught and sent to court. Nothing since then.
Anyone have any advice on how to lower this quote to somewhere near what I paid last year?

This may be an additional factor, but insurance in general has risen sharply recently.Ammah45 said:There was a spate of burglaries and damage to cars on my road around January
You may well find you can't get it for the same price as last year, but do the usual - shop around on aggregator sites, also check out the big names who don't appear on aggregators, see if you can (legitimately) tweak your job title (there's an article about this on the main MSE site), play around with your annual mileage (though make sure it's somewhere near realistic). Adding a named driver (spouse, partner, parent, etc.) who has a decent driving history can also often reduce premiums a little.Ammah45 said:
