You can't just use anything.  It'll need to be sufficiently water resistant.

Assuming that you don't have a shower or bath in your downstairs loo, and as long as the light's not within 60cm of the taps, you can use what you want in terms of IP rating.

Thank you.  No shower or bath just loo and sink.
