Hi all,

I don't even know if I'm allowed to post this so if any mods can chime in please let me know!

I'm a teacher and I came across the below deal for various Civil Servants, Emergency Response Workers and Military personal and thought I should share it around as the deals look pretty good and might help a few people on here.

https://www.motorsourcegroup.com/

NOTE: I haven't yet gone throw sale process and received my car yet but I will post an update throughout the process letting you all know how it's going!

We've used Motorsource and a colleague has as well and saved thousands.

Some deals are better than others, so it's a matter of keeping an eye on them or be a bit flexible with make and model.

My other half saved £4500 on her Vitara and my colleague a little less on a Yaris hybrid, both deals were a few years ago now though.

    It was really simple.
They arrange the car and take a deposit, though they can arrange finance as well.
Then the car is usually delivered to your nearest dealer to collect once the finance is in place or you pay the balance to Motorsource.

Various manufacturers offer these deals though a broker like Motorsource, but there are others like Griffin Mill.
Other will offer then direct but you usually need to prove you comply, union card, work ID, I even think the was a deal for a certain premier league team season ticket holders.

Depending on how they go through the manufacturers/importers books, you can sometimes get a surprise or two.
With Suzuki at the time it was some sort of corporate deal and the dealer wasn't allowed to release the car without filling it up with fuel and luxury mats, bargain!

I've had Fiats and an Abarth direct through their Privilege/Affinity scheme and my current Renault came via a Bluelight card deal.
The Renault one was a tasty one, £4000 of list, 35% off all options and free paint choice.

I tend to seek them out on the basis that if I keep the car 3 or 4 years the discount needs to be around half the expected depreciation over that time.
I have pretty much managed that until someone stole my Abarth and as it wasn't that old the insurance paid out invoice, so I actually made a couple of grand as they didn't take the discount into account.

  • OK so, I completely forgot about this, sorry to anyone who was waiting for the review - I'll make it brief because my bed is calling my name!

in the end I went for the Fiat 500c Convertible which retailed at £20,940.00 brand new but snagged it for a cheeky £17,874.43 making a saving of £30,065.57. This car is a hybrid and a great size for me as I just need a run around. The process was super straight forward and easy, I went for the financing option as I wanted to boost my credit score and free up some savings for other things.

Monthly payments are £298.00 and I was able to sign the finance agreement on the day after a credit check which they run while you're there. The car was just out of stock at the dealership so I did have to wait 3 weeks for delivery which I didn't mind because fresh out the packet sounds great to me!

Overall the customer service was efficient and friendly and the deal they offer is what it says on the tin. I would definitely recommend using Motor Source Group again... In fact my partner who is ex Armed Forces is currently looking into deals with their sister company Forces Cars Direct as he's had his heart set on getting Jeep for the longest time!

Anyway, a bit early but off to bed to watch a movie and pass out :).

That's not a bad result though I expect the amount saved is £3056.57 rather than £30,065.57.

If you get your partner to mention you recommended them when/if they sign up, you might be in for a cheeky recommendation bonus.
Military Car Sales | Forces Cars Discount | Defence Discount - Motor Source Group

I seem to remember my colleague split her bonus with my partner as my partner mentioned my colleagues name when signing up for her Vitara.

I think one of her colleagues is about to sign up for a Suzuki Swift with a healthy 20% discount.
I must remind them to mention she recommended her.

I have just had a look at Fiat's own Privilege/Affinity scheme and what you saved is about the going rate on that (though the price list I have is for last quarter).

agreed with the above comment that's not bad at all, I just used streamline car finance for my car finance so maybe next time check them out, they were super helpful at finding me the best deal. I'll be sure to check out the company you've mentioned aswell! :)
