I don’t think you can add to Notice accounts once a small window after account opening has passed.
I've personally never heard of such a restriction.
All of the banks/building societies etc that I use, and that offer notice accounts, allow unlimited deposits to be made for as long as the account is open.

Zopa does not allow it, for instance. They used to be the darling of the Notice savers.

Have you got one or more examples of account that do, please?
Zopa's 'boosted pot' system doesn't work like the majority of conventional notice savings accounts, where you're free to add money whenever you wish.

Notice account providers don't tend to mention this on their product pages (because there is no restriction) but here's an example of one that does - the Kent Reliance 60 Day Notice Account states "additional deposits allowed".

I think notice accounts that don't allow further deposits after a certain time must be the exception rather than the rule.

All of the notice accounts I have (Dudley BS, Vanquis Bank, DF Capital) allow further money to be added at any time.

If you look at the best current rates here https://moneyfactscompare.co.uk/savings-accounts/best-notice-accounts/?quick-links-first=false and click on 'view further details' all the top ten have a tick next to 'further additions allowed'. Obviously you would need to double check that on account opening.

I stand corrected if you can still add money after you have given Notice.

Though why you would settle for a Notice account at lower than easy access rates isn't quite clear to me

That's a different question - the above debate related to whether or not additional deposits could be made after an initial funding window, not after notice has been given!

They were put forward as a potential solution for someone who doesn't want easy access and for whom fixed term accounts aren't suitable either....

Because Zopa boosted pots are a way of locking a specific amount away for a higher rate in return for accepting a notice period for access, I tend to view them as more like a short-term fixed rate savings account than a notice account.

Rate for notice accounts have definitely become less attractive as easy access rates have shot up recently and it's a shame to see Zopa lagging so far behind, as their boosted pot system was really convenient.

That's a different question, although the answer's still "yes, you can".

Who said anything about "settling" for anything?

You asked for an example. I gave you one.

FWIW that Investec account was in fact better than EA rates until a few days ago. They tend to change their rates on 15th IIRC...

You can, as mentioned higher up.

I use a notice account for a chunk of my money where I dont need instant access but don't want to tie it up with an FTD.   The interest rate for notice accounts typically sit between instant and fixed.

Make sure you get a notice account that does not have an issue number, otherwise the rate will be permanently stuck at whatever you open it at.
