DCB legal December 2017

Hi
I've recently been going through the actions in the Newbies thread, submitted my defence and just had the DCB legal "we intend to proceed" and their N180 form. I was looking to complete my own N180 form and send it to DCB legal and the court but I am due to go travelling for 10months from September.
Given it will be 6yrs in December and therefore statute barred, can I simply put down I am unavailble for a court date until January? I know some courts now do phone cases, however after reading threads here I dont expect it to get to that! I was going to put my parents address on the form so they can open any more letters for me whilst I'm away.
Thanks

It isn't statute barred if the claim has been made already.  Won't become state barred.

But yes, email a N180 as late as possible just before you go away in September.

Not in August because the allocating court finally seeing your non-availability in October (by the time the case creaks slowly in the direction of your local court) will look better than you rushing the process.  Less daunting for the court.

I wouldn't say you are available in January if you are abroad. Cross out the whole 10 months, plus 2 weeks.  Cover yourself and explain why - travelling means you are unavailable until mid 2024.
