Paying a cheque into NatWest

I have just received a compensation cheque from an insurance claim. Bit of a surprise as the accident was 5 years ago. It’s over £1000 and NatWest say that I need to go to a branch to pay it in. It’s a major pita to get to one from where I live. I’ve tried asking their bot but it doesn’t seem to answer the question so I’m hoping someone on here has the answer. Can I pay it in at a Post Office or send in an envelope with a paying in slip?

Post Office, if you have a paying-in slip.

Is it less than £5,000? If so, you could open an account with Lloyds and deposit it via its app.lottieholder said:I have just received a compensation cheque from an insurance claim. I’ll update this. I managed to pay it into my bank using an envelope provided by the PO. I put my details on the back of the cheque and on the envelope and it cleared 3 days later. No paying in slip involved although they would have preferred one.I prefer rogues to imbeciles, they sometimes take a rest (Alexander Dumas)1
