I have one window old fashioned window not double glazed and the outside wood is past repair so looking to replace. I have had 2 quotes so far, looking for a 3rd to help me decide.
The measurements 61"x 22". Just a window no opener required, the window is 42" from the ground so no need for safety glass I have been told. Its at the side of the house downstairs in the kitchen.
First quote £706 and second quote £550 subject to survey. Both FENSA with 10 year guarantees. None have visited yet, they have gone off my measurements and description and 2 pictures below. I am based in Manchester area.

Tradewindowsonline.com would supply this window with a cill for £175. A local builder would stick it in for £200 or less.
Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.1 -

A brick arch above, so a lintel at the top may not be needed. Whilst a builder might be able to slap a window in for £200, there will be another £300 or so to get it signed off by Building Control, and your builder probably wouldn't provide a guarantee.£500-600 would be about right for just the one window. But do check to see if they will make good the walls internally (most won't). If a lintel is needed internally, that will push the price up. As it is just the one window being replaced, you don't need trickle vents (not that it will affect the price).
