I have a picture on my Android phone of a document written in Ukrainian, What's the best way for me to translate it into English?
And as a follow-on question, I've been told that there's an App with which you can point your Anroid phone camera at a document and see an instant translation. Is that a fact, and if so, what's its called?

Google Lens and Google Translate will do this.
Lens is probably easier , just tap the little camera icon on the right side of the Google search bar, tap search with camera, tap translate and then take a picture of thr document.1 -
Thank you. I'll know now what to do next time I need to translate a document, but how might I go about translating this one when it only now exists as a jpeg file on my phone? I can't re-type the document into Google Translate because the text's in Cyrillic!PHK said:Google Lens and Google Translate will do this ...We're all doomed1 -
This may not be practical depending on the length of your document, but I have used these in the past for translating captions on postcards and such like...I think the Ukrainian character set is slightly different from Russian...Si_Clist said:

But if it is just a small amount of text, you can type each character one by one from your image into the box on those sites, then cut and paste the result into Google Translate. Or you might find your computer actually has a Russian or Ukrainian character set ? Of course, none of this is of any use if the document is very long !1 -
Cheers but it's pretty much a full A4 page of text. We're all doomed0

When you tap the little camera on the end of the Google search bar to start Google Lens, underneath where it says Search with Camera you'll see the photos stored on your phone. Just tap the photo you've taken of the Ukranian text and then tap translate.2
