Natwest My Rewards - Spurious Email

Natwest has sent an email to everyone with a My Rewards account saying they have converted their balance into Argos vouchers. The email looks genuine, and it does indeed originate from Natwest. However, Natwest have confirmed that it was sent in error, and it can be ignored.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Yeah, I received the same - it was extremely poorly worded and implied we’d opted in. I expect them to send a follow up email to explain their error which of course they won’t.0

Some system tester has pointed the software at the wrong database, we've all done it. Used to be worse in the olden days when the system would produce thousands of letters ready to be posted.0 -
I’ve also had this email and can no longer log into my rewards in the usual way - same with RBS too !User name should now read NowWhereIWantToBe

I had this email and was immediately suspicious so forwarded it to Nat West on the phishing email. I then got the email a second time. It has now left a clickable link at the bottom of the screen on my iphone and I can't get rid of it. I'm worried I'm going to accidently click on it a some point. Anyone else have this?0

I received the same email at 11am and contacted NatWest. At that point they didn’t know if it was themselves or a scam. They didn’t come across very knowledgeable. They acknowledged that they had received many calls about it. Very pleased to see the comments here to ‘confirm’ that it was them. Not a great moment for NatWest!1

I got this same email from NatWest. And just now an apology from RBS apologising for the error!I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0

I also had the original email. No correction or apology yet.RBS are trying very hard to make themselves look incompetent.0

I received an apology email from Natwest at 17.51.1
