Email from AIC. Help please

Options
I recently wrote to AIC with a CCA request on a old Natwest Loan. I have received an email from them requesting the following:

a. Your full name.

b. Your last 3 digits of your postcode.

c. Your year of birth.

d. You agree to communicate with Allied International Credit (UK) Ltd via email

I am not 100% sure how they got my email but they clearly have.
Is it okay for them to request this information via email?
Thanks

Surely the question should be "are you OK giving them this information by email" ?

Assuming you included all that information in your CCA letter, then what they are asking is for you to prove your identity, for data protection purposes, so that they can communicate with you by email.

It`s entirely up to you if you agree to it or not, they should write in response to your request regardless.

Thank you, I realise now how overly cautious my post is. I've had a bad experience in the past with AIC so I always get a bit twitchy. I repainted with the details they wanted and they have said the CCA req should have had a hand written signature.

    Hello,
I have now heard back from AIC. It turns out they were actually acting on behalf of Natwest for 2 current account ODs and 1 loan. I didn't know this and thought it was just the loan and received statements from NW for the loan nd my entire monthly payment went towards the loan. AIC sent the CCA request to NW who responded that it didn't apply to the ODs which I knew it wouldn't have. They have also responded they can't supply the information for the loan but will keep looking so good news for now.
Can I now request that the monthly payment must go towards the two ODs rather than wasting it on the loan?
    Thanks

Have they amalgamated these debts under one reference number?

I've just checked back through the paperwork. Triton had the debt in 2011 and detailed the 3 debts in their letters. It then passed to AIC later that year and have never detailed/separated the debts it has always just been under one ref number. I then received the NW statements with the monthly payments all going into the loan. I therefore assumed (obviously incorrectly) that they were only collecting for the loan. Could this mean the ODs could potentially be statute barred or is it another reason they're silly?
    Thank you

It's really difficult to enforce a debt like that through the courts as it's a mix of agreements. It seems that they are having trouble evidencing any of it so either ignore completely or offer a low percentage in full settlement using the National Debtline template
