I have a gen 4 Kindle, 10+ years old. It's been amazing and I tend to go back to it and use it frequently.
After downloading a new book and then going to download it to the Kindle, it comes to light that the kindle store no longer supports it so no more books for me 😡
I'm a little annoyed as this device is perfectly fine but now rendered obsolete because Amazon don't want to update it.
Do you think Amazon would acknowledge a complaint?

Doubt it.
I had a perfectly serviceable iPad2 that was 9+ years old when support was withdrawn. Very annoying.
Replaced with an Amazon Fire tablet. Took me a while to work out why there were no radio apps. Alexa play [name of radio station]! Doh!1 -

You can still use Calibre to add books to your Kindle. Have a look here https://calibre-ebook.com

You just can't buy them on the device itself. Is there any reason why you can't just buy the books from your PC or mobile phone?

There are two ways you can transfer books to these old devices:1) Send by email2) Transfer from your online Amazon account (access this through the Amazon App or web browser)If you can indicate which you prefer, we can provide more guidance.[Source: I have one of these devices and did this twice in the past 2 weeks]1

I have just fired up an old Kindle Keyboard. There is a book on the account called Ogres. It was only bought about a month ago. I searched for Ogres (menu -> Search, enter Ogres, select "My Items" to search in). I was able to download Ogres from the search results.
