LiPo batteries

My new laptop has a non-user-replaceable LiPo battery - that I was concerned about
But - it has so far - exceeded my expectations
Fully charged - the first couple of weeks - running time was less than 3 hours - this has now increased to more than 6 hours - its been running all day, since 9 am and its still showing 73% left (3 hrs 42miins)
Is this normal ?
ie) Do LiPo batteries take a few cycles to reach their full potential ? (pardon the pun)
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

I usually find that when the batteries were shipped with zero charge. Items from the £ shops with those batteries are often flat
or below the nominal voltage where multiple charge/discharge cycles improve their capacity.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...1 -
I would not buy a laptop with a battery that can't be changed by the customer. It is just a grab your ankles activity by certain suppliers. Most laptop batteries use a number of 18650 cells which are lithium ION, they do not have memory effect and last 3 to 5 years. When they fail I replace them and break the old one to check the cells that are still good. I have a couple of devices that tell me the state of the cells. I have made portable charger units out of good ones using kit off eBay.0

They are unique to a particular brand of laptop
