Hello,
Recently moved into a new place. The socket for the broadband connection is directly next to the coaxial socket on the wall. Now Broadband have sent me the equipment for my new internet, but the filter is a block, without any cable, and when stuck into the wall blocks access to the coaxial socket next to it.
Do I have to use the one Now provided, or can I buy a third part one, I imagine they are all created equal?
Thanks

Yes you can use a third party filter which comes with a short lead. Ask around your mates. if any of them have upgraded to FTTP or changed bb provider they might have one lying around.1

ThanksIt used to be that there was a difference of some sort and good/bad filter types, but like most most mass manufactured things the end result is the bottom line and they just become more reliable as the technology evolves.I've always used the cheap and cheerful filters, in fact when I went FTTC they upgraded my faceplace to a filtered one, so I didn't need the filters and gave them all to my parents, as I;d bought a pack of about 15 of them in bulk. They've still got best part of a dozen left of that batch now, and that was a decade or so ago, so they've definitely lasted1
