Together Energy

Hi All
My sister has had a bill for £1500 plus from the above. She obtained a final settlement figure from them which she paid. They are now effectively saying this was probably an error and have passed to debt collectors. She is a vulnerable pensioner.
I have written to the debt collectors with copies of previous correspondence and the payments she made but I am awaiting reply, following GDPR clearance.
As they are now in run-off/liquidation there is no recourse via Ofgem. Where else can I go to seek help for her? She is on a limited income and this would not be something she could pay.

The only recourse is negotiation or a strong defence if they go to court.  Citizens Advice or Age UK may be able to help.
Is this an actual debt though.  Many of these failed companies had horrendous record keeping and the administrators had difficulty picking out what was real.

Was it actually a final settlement figure or was it just a final bill?

As per previous post - there are a huge number of ex customers of T.E who are being harassed for supposed debts by BSB/Credit Style - many of these debts have been unwound/cancelled when the administrators have reluctantly supplied all bills (not just a final statement) which often prove that DD payments have not been recorded correctly or that estimated readings have been used to raise the bills even tho actual meter reads had been provided.

I had hassle after leaving Together but without the debt collector involvement. It seemed as soon as they realised I had all my faculties and records they backed off and it evaporated. It was a lot less, about £300 but it was total fiction.  I took as them trying on a deliberate bullying scam. I hope you have your records. Be firm and push back hard.
