Amazon refusing a refund

I bought a desk from a third-party seller on Amazon, they sent me the wrong item, they sent me a 120cm desk instead of 90cm, it took several calls to Amazon but eventually, the seller booked a collection for last week to pick up the desk --- the courier company never turned up and the seller is now ignoring me so I filed a claim for a refund with Amazon, and they are refusing the refund saying I need to return the item -- which obviously I have been trying to do!!! I contacted them again and they said they would email the seller ---- we have already been through this step and they are doing nothing.
I would appreciate any advice on who I can contact that will help with getting a refund and the item uplifted, I am really really upset as I spend a lot of money on Amazon due to requiring deliveries due to my mobility and health.
P.S. This is a large desk and causing me obstructions and obviously I cannot drop it at a drop-off point - which would not be an option for even small items due to not driving, and disabilities (I also have mobility issues, as such it worries me I will trip over this!!).

You say that collection was booked last week. How many business days ago? I know it's inconvenient but it might be a case of allowing a reasonable time for the seller to correct the mistake. If it was last Friday for example, then today is only the next working day and we are in holiday season - the seller might be away for a few days or short-staffed.
Be careful giving Amazon too much grief if you depend upon them. They can choose not to deal with you any longer if they consider you more trouble than you're worth.1
