Kwikfit battery needs replacing still under warranty

Had a flat battery this morning. Called out breakdown and said needs a new battery. Had my car booked in for an airbag repair this morning anyway so just got them to tow it straight to the garage and tell them to sort the battery. Found my invoice from kwikfit and it has a 3 year guarantee and I bought it two years ago. Not sure what to do now. I guess kwikfit will tell me to take it back to the garage that fitted it but it's not local and I'm worried my car might not start again in between. Don't want to pay unnecessarily for a new battery but not sure the best thing to do. Do you think kwikfit would replace it for free? Shall I tell this garage to leave the battery and I'll take it to kwikfit or knowing them will they try to charge me anyway

Kwikfit should replace if it's within guarantee. Not sure what you mean by "local garage" though, did you get someone else to fit it? If you meant Kwikfit they are a national chain so any of their branches should be able to sort it.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

Yeah I guess I could take it back to any kwikfit. I think the breakdown was going to tell the garage that it needs a new battery. Feel awkward to call them now and say leave the battery. Also worried that if I don't have time to take it today then what if I have a flat battery again in thr morning. On the other hand don't want to pay for a new battery when it's still under guarantee. Don't suppose kwikfit will do anything in retrospect they will just say I should have taken it to them I imagine

In my experience, it's rare for a battery guarantee to be honoured anyway after a few months. They usually argue that the lights must have been left on once and flattened it and damaged it, or the car charging system must be faulty.
