Morning everyone
I've been missing as little one stayed Friday and Saturday night. She was as good as good but I found it tiring having to give her medication at midnight and then her waking me at 5.30 both mornings, though she did cuddle in and doze for a while. Saturday I took her to soft play which she loved - there were a few in so she had playmates and I had a very nice hot chocolate! Then we went to mam and dads for lunch then home and the sun came out so she played in the garden and I pulled weeds out. Yesterday afternoon we went to an Art in the Park event which was lovely - all the materials were provided and we sat and painted and drew - little one loved it. Then DD picked us up, child went home and I had a lovely sit outside reading my Sunday Times.
Today I've got a couple of cupboards to empty in the living room ready for the painter then later I'll go down to DDs to play with little one while DD goes to an appointment.
The day after 9/11 my mam and I and the two DDs went to Butlins - I'll never forget how weird it was on the train - we were the only ones in our carriage and when we went through York station, which is always busy, there were only station staff on the platform. It seemed disrespectful to be on holiday but the girls were just 5 and 3 so we still went.
Right I'm waffling - the sun is shining so I'll go hang the washing out. Hope everyone has a good day x12 -
Morning all, sunny here too, what's happeningNot posted for a few days, we had a poorly pooch, I really thought it was time to let her go
She suddenly started acting weird on Fri night, very restless, panting, seemed disoriented/hallucinating and like she didn't recognise us. She didn't really settle so rang the emergency vets early on Sat. They asked lots of questions to rule things out, and told us to go to our own vet as soon as we could, which we did. She was very thorough with more questions, checked heart, temp, ears etc. and still didn't really know but wondered if she'd eaten something on her walk that affected her. By then she was seeming a bit more herself so we were told to monitor her over weekend. We are now wondering if someone who crashed their car into a tree on the main road has thrown something illicit away in case the police came. It seems the most likely explanation we can think of. She's fine now, catching up on lost sleep. DH even came on the walk this morning to see if we could spot anything but no. The money saving bit is whereas if we 'd actually gone to the emergency vet it would have been nearly £190, without meds cost, but our own was £44, but would happily have paid up if need be.
We had a visit from my ex SisILaw and DH yesterday, on their way up to the Lakes.( DB doesn't mind us remaining friends) We were meant to meet in Mcr last week but they had to cancel. She brought me some home grown courgetttes which I used last night with our roast lamb rump( very good value in my recent butchers pack!) I stuffed them with a mix of feta cheese, toasted pine nuts, mini toms and herbs, delicious. DH was a bit dubious but admitted they were very good
Just been doing some weeding front and back before the green bin goes out tomorrow.Apologies for not mentioning everyone but hope you are all well x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)11 -
Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x
WFH today. DDad has some health issues that DSis needs to get him to a walk in clinic for or possible A&E, so I'm waiting to hear where I need to meet them. He goes home Wednesday next week so need him well enough to travel.
Dinner tonight is an oven-baked risotto with mushrooms and cherry tomatoes. Couldn't find dried porcini mushrooms so ordinary chestnut ones it is!
Good news about @nannywindow's niece and her recovery x
Hope the house viewing goes well @carolbee
Loving the sounds of the deer and hare @Gers
Hugs to all who need them

Popped to SA this morning but my friend had double booked herself so will go along tomorrow morning.
Medication has just been delivered.
I am going to do some crafting and tidying in the kitchen.
Mr F is going to a men's fellowship that is starting tonight at SA.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Morning all, just. I woke up this morning with a stiff neck, must have been Mr Fix It breathing down it in the night and causing a draught 😂 Yesterday I did a wash and got it all line dried and Dad went home happy with a carrier bag full of food, enough to last him the week at least.
This morning we had to go to the pharmacy to collect Dad's meds as they tried to deliver last week but he had gone out even though he knew they were coming, GRR ! Sometimes he can be a PITA. We then went on to Curry's for another hard drive as our other one was full, we still have umpteen videos to get off the computers. Then called back to Dad's to deliver his meds.
I have just put a load in the wm and it's now gone over cloudy but hopefully it won't rain as it isn't forecast. Famous last words !
I was with DD in Specsavers when 9/11 started and it didn't take long for the news to go all around the shop.
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need.

Afternoon - lovely to see so many posting, we all have such varied lives it's always fascinating. My friends came for their shower and bacon sandwiches, we deposited the husband at a neighbours to talk about maps whilst the wife and I enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate watching yachts at the sea lock. They headed off about midday.A delivery I was expecting tomorrow arrived today, unfortunately the wrong item arrived. I've been sent a male jacket so the fastenings are on the wrong side (big poppers) and I just can't do them up. The jacket came from Denmark too, I'll have to send it back for an exchange. Nothing huge, just a PIA.I've done my banking, had lunch, washed and hung out my jumper which had aquired dinner medals and now ready for a snooze! At 09/11 I was starting my new teaching job at a secondary school in Newcastle, it as an in-service day but we all watched the TV for most of it. Really shocking. Then I had to have my induction whizzed through before going home.9
