Over the years Amazon use to offer a protection plan when buying certain electrical items such as tablets, electric toothbrush, phones, etc. It used to be a 2 or 3 year policy which gave cover for breakdowns and accidental damage.

But I've noticed now no products have the option of adding protection plans. Has Amazon stopped doing this?

Accidental damage will probably be better to claim through household insurance.

You get warranty from new anyway.

There's often an excess on household insurance that means it's not ideal for electrical items.

Strangely, the extended warranty section of the Amazon website is still there but blank. However, Amazon have recently set up Amazon Insurance with various insurers, so they might be about to relaunch?
