Morning all, well the high winds didn't materialise and it only rained till lunchtime, don't know what happened to storm Antoni, he didn't come here. DD with the DGC in tow called in for a drink and cake yesterday after they returned home from Scotland and they took my little houseguests away with them. I saw lots of photos and had the low down on their holiday.
Today the sun is out and we're supposed to have showers but it's windy so I have put a wash on in the hope I can line dry it. Dad is coming today for lunch and tea, he ummmed and ahhhed a bit as to whether he wanted come but decided he would in the end, hope he's got his happy head on today. We'll have a roast chicken dinner and then sandwiches followed by trifle for tea.
Update on DNiece, she's out of ICU and in a room of her own but now she has had a stoma bag fitted to avoid any infection from her rear end. When her wounds are healed she will be sent to the hospital in Swansea for reconstructive surgery and skin grafts.
TA happy birthday to your youngest DGD, glad you enjoyed the ballet and had another proud grandmother moment.
Gers enjoy the visit with your German friends.
Sorry I have forgotten the other posts I wanted to reply too, I seem to have a lot of brain fog this morning.
Take care all

Was bright ,sunny and windy ,so I hopefully did a wash ,by the time the machine finished( 41 min) it’s dark black clouds ,still windy but I daren’t chance it as I’m not fast enough to get it in quickly.
I have an unexpected guest for a fortnight as her holiday care fell through - the grandcat ! So far she’s mainly hiding and sleeping all day and wandering round yowling at night .We have discussed this behaviour ,but she hasn’t reformed!😀
at her home she is in and out all day but here has to be an indoor cat as I live just off a quite a busy road and it would spoil son and family’s holiday if she got flattened !
im not a cat person, but making an exception for the grandcat !,9 -
Afternoon all Like you Nan we didn't see much of a storm here but the rain didn't stop all day I feel so sorry for those on a staycation and anyone whose wedding day was yesterday . We seem to be plodding on with the wardrobe it should be finished next weekend. I have managed to get a tooth or gum infection on Friday and its driving me mad luckily i have some antibiotics so that should help till i can see a dentist as i have a gum disease brought on after a road accident in my teens i have been slowly loosing my teeth for 2 pins i would have them all out but the thought of the dentist makes me really ill so i only go when there is no option luckily i managed to buy 2 lots of antibiotics in Thailand when we were last there so i can manage till Thursday when DGS has gone home. I have made a cottage pie, pasta bake and a cowboy casserole to put in the freezer for easy tea when DGS is here maybe that will make things a bit easier

Afternoon all. I managed to get roaring drunk last night [there was no roraring though honest] on a pint and ahalf and a couple of whiskies. I put it down to not having eaten much yesterday so will have to remember for next time to eat first. Hangover central this moring so mcdonalds breakfast was called for since we have no bread and cooking with my shaky hands wasn't going to happen. Since then, I've drunk a lot of tea, played some computer games then got my act in gear and fixed the arm of the bench where OH broke it, and done some weeding along with some repotting and moving stuff around. I'm going to change and go for some proper weeding in a minute. Yesterday was horrible, rained all da and so cold I actually put some socks on because my feet were freezing. Today the weather is doing butter wouldn't melt...Nothing else planned for today but tomorrow is reserved for bench fixing and painting. And maybe some washing if it isn't raining.Grs, hope the breakfast was nice! Lovely to see family for you. Scarlet, it always sounds lovely, I did loook it up but it's way too far away for me unless I make an overnight stop. One day...TA, glad the show was good, how talented are your family! Ruby, how did you get the marks out? glad your mum is better. snoozer, jealous! I love Germany, the people are so friendly the food is so good and the shops aren't bad either [ especially the wool shops] enjoy! wl, might be time to find a Timpsons
sounds lovely...nanny, great news about your niece, hope she continues with the recovery. I feel for her though, it's going to be a slog. How's your foot now? Sue, enjoy the company, they do grow on you...
bella, I feel your pain. I have gum disease brought on by a whole host of things and while they're all, bar one, in my mouth for now, I'm dreading dentist visits when things start to go. I would just like to wake up with a mouth full of falsies without the pain, humiliation, embarassment and terror thanks. I'm a wuss, what can I say? Take care all...

We also managed on the second attempt to get the brush up the chimney, first attempt it went too far and fell on the roof but we managed to get it down and try again this time it went like a dream so hopefully no more stray birds 🦅8 -
@RedRuby1231 - My father made his own cover for the chimney from chicken wire. Just cut it to fit. Would that work for your chimney?4

it’s not the cover we have trouble with it’s the height of the chimney, we bought a cover but got quoted many hundreds of £ to put it up because it’s so high, we are hoping the brush up the chimney will work 🤞but thank you for the suggestion 😘5
