Good morning folks. The sun is hiding behind a low band of mist across the sea, perhaps it'll come out later. I'm off for coffee and will return.

Yesterday I enjoyed my pool session even though I didn't do any cycling, instead I treaded water all the time and did all the arm stuff. It was more difficult than sitting and pedalling. My initial few minutes on the bike hurt too much to carry on so I hopped off. 😀 The rest of the day was much more lazy. I had my pizza which turned out to be a disappointment, back to chicken for me.Late last night I got an email from German friends who are touring round Scotland in their camper van. I knew that they had reached Glasgow on Thursday and thst they were heading north. The email had a photo attached of them parked up for the night under a mile from me. We've now arranged that I'll go to them and then take them for breakfast in a cafe about 10 miles away. I'm so pleased that they've made it across as the earlier visit was cancelled because of the virus. They are actually school friends of my Berlin cousin who I met a number of years ago at a barn party there. Such a lovely couple. Before I go I'll whizz round to do a quick tidy up downstairs, not that it's messy just a few bits and pieces on the coffee table I hope that everyone is doing well and not had problems with the storm yesterday.Happy Sunday to all.11

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers. It's dry and sunny here, for a change - yesterday was a terrible day, raining all day and quite cold.I went to a nearby shopping centre where there's a big M&S, to see what was in the sale, but didn't buy anything. Tried a dress on, but looked hideous in it. It was one of those floral, quite voluminous ones that are fashionable at the moment, but it didn't suit me at all.I had a look round though, and did a bit of grocery shopping at Sains. We thought we might go to Alnwick gardens today, though I think a lot of the flowers will have been battered by the rain. We like to go every few weeks, there's always seasonal changes. We'll take a picnic lunch.Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, take care folks.13

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Have a lovely breakfast catch up with your German friends. Miraculously we escaped the storms yesterday and never saw a drop of rain. Perhaps the rain sender thinks we have had more than enough already. Sadly, although the sun is currently shining, rain is on the forecast for this afternoon.
I had a lovely evening watching the girls dance last night. No-one put a foot wrong, not even the cute little ones who also made an appearance and looked to be loving it so much. Aw bless.
It's youngest DGDs birthday today. Now a teenager and it's hard to believe she's 13 she's such a little dot for her age.. For her treat they are going to see Barbie. DD's DP is so looking forward to it - not!!!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning everyone and thank you for starting us off Gers (enjoy breakfast with your German friends).
It looks like being a better day today - no rain!!
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.11 -
Morning everyone,
Enjoy your visit with your friends, Gers. Scarlet R, how lovely to visit the gardens, a nice way to spend Sunday. TA, the ballet sounds so nice, and congratulations to your youngest granddaughter, how fast the years fly by.
I cannot believe how chilly it is feeling this morning, I could easily put the heating on, but not in August. I’ve got my woolies and my fur lined slippers on. They say it will get warmer this week, I do hope so, as I need to wash some blankets and hopefully get to dry them outside on the line.
Today, I am receiving my parent’s grocery shop and will then deliver to them. After that, my plans are to rest, but plans are changeable due to elderly parent’s needs.I do have some old bananas that need using up, so cake making beckons.
Take care all.

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers - enjoy your breakfast with your German pals.
It's looking like a nice day in store after the rain of biblical proportions yesterday. Shame as there was a music festival in the town park. I've been for a run and had a shower. Still trying to cool down! Housework got done yesterday and DH scrubbed the kitchen floor - a bit of housemaids knee going on last night!
We are having a new SW recipe tonight of harissa meatballs and orzo. Looking forward to that. I'm also going to do a bit of weeding of the patio pots and will pop to the high street to Savers and B&M as need a couple of toiletry bits plus some storage jars.
Have a good day all

Morning all
Beautiful day today which is lovely after yesterday when it did not stop raining all day and it was quite cold.
I stripped the top of the dresser yesterday, it’s a beautiful old oak one which was my parents, it then went to my sister for a while and is now mine as she did not have room for it, it’s currently in the middle of my study while the decorator is here and it had two big black ring marks on where someone put a drink on it years ago, I got both marks out and re oiled it, it looks so much better now.
Today we have to fit a final bit of skirting and the fire surround, we have an old fire place in the study which we don’t use but is still open, we have had quite a few birds stuck down it over the years which eventually fall down in a state of shock and we then release them, we wanted a cowl put on the top but were quoted a huge amount for it to be done which we cannot afford, so we came up with a plan 😃 I have bought a chimney brush and we are going to poke it up till it comes out the top of the chimney then pull it back a bit so that it sits just in the top, we will then release the poles and leave the brush up there ! Let’s hope it works !
Roast pork for dinner today and I will phone mum and see if she wants to come, Taff she is doing really well atm thank you x
Dogs to be walked later and that is my day.
Have good days all and take care xx10 -

Just a quick one from a rainy Trier in Germany. We had a very good drive down and Trier is lovely, I wish we still had places like this with very few chains and lots of lovely quirky independent shops. Frustratingly I won't be able to do more than window shop, no. Sunday opening and we'll be leaving early tomorrow.
Today we'll go to the museum and if it isn't too wet go round some of the Roman remains.
Ruby, that reminds me of the time we had the chimney swept and the apprentice twisted the brushes the wrong way and uncoupled the top. They had to bring a cherry picker to retrieve it.
Have a good day.12 -
Morning all from Devon.
We are in Sidmouth for the Folk Festival this week. DH has gone off to an early morning workshop but I'm not meeting up with friends until later so have some free time.
A couple of things got cancelled/altered yesterday because of the high winds but I'm not aware of any other problems. Wouldn't want to be camping though.
Our hotel does lovely breakfasts but could only give us one key for our room. Because we often go to different events we are having to arrange something about who takes the key and where we are going to meet up. Not a problem we've encountered before. At the moment we think we'll meet in the hotel foyer as it has lots of comfy seats and will be out of any forecasted rain.
Hope everyone's weekend is going well.10
