Community Driven Football Club - What Should I Do?
Ps my cricket club has been running for 109 years and has never been registered (as a CASC, CIC or a CIO). It has a constitution and it's own bank account.
I think you're over worrying
Does it have insurance? If it does, please share for the OP's benefit who this is with, how it's organised, anything that might be helpful ...
Clubs have been going for 100s of years. There is no need to reinvent the wheel. They simply get themselves a constiution and that gives them a legal framework in which to operate. It makes the club an entity as far as the law goes. At the minute the club is probably not an enitty in law. It appears that the OP is personally responsible for this club and if he or she is taking money, they probably are acting as the owner of a sole trader business .
I know you are not wanting to go to former directors of the old club, but in my view, you have to go to some football insiders here to get help. If you definitey want to go it alone I would at least get a constitution drawn up, with legal help if necessary, to protect yourself.
