mmmmikey said:I've been an Agile customer for about 3 months now and I'm rapdily becoming it's number one fan! Works really well for me as I can move my energy usage about to make best use of the best pricing. I've been progressively automating things using IFTTT (more on that in a sec). The 2 apps I use all the time (multiple times a day at the moment as I'm still in the process of automating things) are the Octopus app - I have an Octopus mini so I use this to give me live data as well as what's happened today - and Octopus watch. I use Octopus watch to see the rates for the day ahead and also the reporting is great if you pay an extra £9.99 for the advanced version. It took me about 6 weeks to get the mini but I suspect the waiting time is quite variable.Something worth exploring is IFTTT. I'm using it to automatically heat my hot water and charge my batteries when the prices are lowest. Even if you don't go the whole hog and go for that level of automation, you can use IFTTT to send notifications to your phone telling you when prices are the lowest, when the best time is to use the washing machine and so on. Or you can get SMS messages or emails - the possibilites are endless. You can set up basic IFTTT for free if you want to have a play while you wait for your mini - but be warned, it's addictive. If your thinking that sounds good but you've absolutely no idea what I'm talking about just Google something like "getting started with IFTTT" and you'll find everything you need.0

So using the free Octopus Go Agile app our first 3 days on Agile have average out at 18.95p kWh that combined with the 37.3p standing charge well it's pretty good so far.
Historically when does Agile start becoming less if a good deal as we will switch to the cost tariff then I suspect.0 -
Looking at last years data November was a hideous month for Agile. I’ve been on agile for 6 weeks now and like you say, I’m a huge fan.Unsure how winter is going to play out0

Even though we were only on Agile for 4 days we found ourselves spending a bit too much time looking at best time slots for biggest savings and programming appliances.
I hit sign me up to tracker and it went through within 24 hours so we are now on tracker 17.25p kWh all day today and 17.65p kWh all day tomorrow.
As you say don't know what will happen come winter time and suspect last year would not be a fair reflection on what may happen this winter.
With tracker they do now say it may take up to 2 weeks to transfer away from it as we may well do as we have a heat pump and can sign up to their cosy time of use tariff and estimate we can average 25p kWh on that product in the depths of winter. So that may well be our point to hit the transfer button.0 -

Natural gas traders are worried about potential disruptions and closures at gas facilities, despite the fact that fuel reserves in the EU are at their highest level ever for this time of year. On top of that, UK wind power generation remains at low levels, increasing the dependency on natural gas. Also pressuring supply, capacity at Norway’s Vesterled pipeline to Britain was lowered until the half of August, before its eventual shutdown in the end of September.

If someone gets spooked whenever something happens in the energy markets then I would suggest that Agile and Tracker are not the tariffs they should be on.3
