Fencing work

I need to have some fencing replaced. A friend has found a person that someone else has used & they recommend him. However, after googling to find out more, I found that this person is an active director of 60 companies, none of which are fencing. Should I be concerned?

May warrant further investigation, how close is the friend to the person who recommended (and how close are you to the friend)? This could be a recommendation from a close friend of a close friend, or a far more tenuous connection. Also are they definitely director to all these companies or is it mistaken identity/ a very common name?!1

More likely that they are a company director on the side.
Lots of 'interesting' overseas companies want a UK registered company number, which needs an address and a director. Doesn't mean that the director actually does anything other than appear on paperwork.
